The First Tennessee Development District (FTDD) is assisting homeowners with applications for USDA Rural Development grant funding for homes that remain impacted by
Hurricane Helene.
To help residents learn more about this assistance, FTDD will host an informational meeting for homeowners who are still seeking repairs to their homes. The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Johnson County Long-Term Recovery Group office, located at 2303 S. Shady Street, Mountain City.
While the first informational meeting will be held in Johnson County, USDA grant funding is available to eligible homeowners in other counties impacted by the storm. Additional informational meetings will be scheduled, with dates to be announced.
During the meeting, FTDD staff will explain eligibility requirements, the application process, and the types of assistance available through the program. This funding opportunity may provide critical support for residents who continue to recover from storm-related damage.
“Many homeowners are still dealing with the long-term impacts of Hurricane Helene, and this funding can play an important role in helping families move forward,” said Bill Forrester, Director of Economic Development, Planning and Housing Initiatives for FTDD. “Our goal is to make sure residents understand what assistance is available and to help them navigate the application process.”
FTDD encourages homeowners impacted by Hurricane Helene to attend and learn more about the resources available to support recovery efforts.
Homeowners who are unable to attend the meetings may contact the FTDD Housing Department by phone at (423) 268-2677 or by email to Cindy Bacon (cbacon@ftdd.org) or Heather McCamy (hmccamy@ftdd.org)
