CareerQuestTN Opens Doors to Hospitality Careers

What if your future career is one you haven't discovered yet? For more than 400 area high school students, that question took on new meaning last week at MeadowView during CareerQuestTN Hospitality Works, held September 30.

Students stepped into a world of possibilities, meeting nearly two dozen industry professionals and discovering career paths they may never have considered. From creating unforgettable events and experiences to promoting destinations, entertaining guests, managing accommodations, providing recreation, and serving great food, students learned that the hospitality and tourism industry offers far more career opportunities than they may have realized.

And those opportunities are right here in Tennessee.

Tourism is a leading industry in our state, welcoming visitors from across the country and around the world. Behind every hotel, restaurant, attraction, event, and destination are talented people working in a wide variety of careers. CareerQuestTN Hospitality Works gave students the chance to see those careers up close, ask questions, make connections, and begin thinking about where their own interests and talents could take them.

The event was made possible by the nearly two dozen vendors who took time from their busy schedules to set up and engage with students. Their willingness to share their knowledge and experiences is an important investment in the next generation of our workforce.

We also owe a tremendous thank you to the volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the event happen, as well as the school systems and educators who made it possible for students to attend.

Hospitality Works was about more than exploring jobs. It was about opening doors, creating connections, and helping students see a future filled with possibilities.

And after a day like this, it’s exciting to think about where those possibilities might lead.
