FTDD Leadership Attends National Economic Development Conference in Reno

Members of the First Tennessee Development District’s (FTDD) Executive Leadership Team recently traveled to Reno, Nevada, to attend the National Association of Development Organizations’ (NADO) 2026 Annual Training Conference.
The four-day conference brought together regional development professionals, elected officials, and policymakers from across the country to exchange ideas, share best practices, and explore innovative approaches to economic and community development.
Conference sessions covered a wide range of topics relevant to FTDD’s work in Northeast Tennessee, including regional planning, housing, economic development, downtown revitalization, grant management, and workforce development. Additional sessions focused on organizational leadership, strategic communications, and strengthening partnerships that help communities thrive.
Attendees also had opportunities to network with peers from other regions, discuss shared challenges, and learn about successful initiatives that could be adapted to benefit communities back home.
Participation in national conferences like NADO’s Annual Training Conference helps FTDD stay informed about emerging trends, funding opportunities, and proven strategies for regional growth. By bringing fresh ideas and valuable connections back to Northeast Tennessee, FTDD continues to strengthen its ability to support local governments and the communities they serve.
