The First Tennessee Development District is excited to announce the forthcoming release of the 2022 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Survey, otherwise known as the CEDS Survey, in the first week of November. This survey poses questions related to the state of the region from an economic and community perspective. Community members and regional stakeholders are encouraged to take the survey once it is posted on the District’s website.
“The CEDS document communicates regional goals aimed at moving the region forward over the next five years,” said Ken Rea, Deputy Director, Economic and Community Development at First Tennessee Development District. “With this information, we are able to create the framework necessary for building regional capacity.”
Regional Impact
The goal of the CEDS Survey, which has twenty-five short question, is to gain information from our local community members and those that have a vested interest in the future of the region. The survey has a range of questions about the business atmosphere of the region, education priorities to outdoor recreation and regional attributes.
What is CEDS
The CEDS document is a required report by the Economic Development Administration every five years with updates taking place each year. A CEDS Committee is put together and comprises of members that represent the main economic interest of the region. The CEDS document is a conduit for resources in our region. It is a creative document that is engaging because it relies on data from the region. In short, it is the story of our region.
