The First Tennessee Development District is excited to announce the 2023 Education to Employment Summit will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Hosted at the MeadowView Conference Resort and Convention Center, E2E brings together educators, employers, and regional stakeholders for a discussion on workforce and related issues.
This year’s event promises to build on previous attendees’ input and will include a conversation with Deniece Thomas, the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development and her leadership team. Attendees will also have the chance to learn more about artificial intelligence and ChatGPT: what is it, how are businesses using it, what to worry about, and how our higher education partners are responding in the classroom.
Leaders in the region’s veteran community will be on hand to discuss how to successfully integrate veterans and their skills into the workplace and how to tap into the talent of spouses. Governor Bill Lee’s Innovative High Schools Model will also be covered by the Tennessee Department of Education, who are seeking input from attendees as they develop policies and practices. The day will wrap up with a panel on what employees are asking for and how employers are responding.
Area high schools and post-secondary partners will also be on hand to showcase their CTE and STEM programs during the gallery walk.
Back by popular demand, high school culinary students will provide a delicious breakfast and lunch.
It’s time to register for #E2E2023!
