After consulting with the staff and stakeholders, and in light of the continued increase in COVID-19 cases within the region, the Board of Directors of the First Tennessee Development District has opted to alter the format of their long-standing Annual Meeting and move the location.

The Board will meet at the Langston Centre, located at 315 Elm Street in Johnson City on Wednesday, September 29th at 2:00 p.m. By moving the meeting into the region, the Board will be able to attend to District business and return to their respective communities to continue to monitor the situation. “We are appreciative of the Langston Centre staff for accommodating us with this change” said Board Chair, W.T. Daniels. Chris Craig, FTDD Executive Director went on to add that, “the Langston Centre provides the opportunity for us to meet, do what we need to do safely, and remain respectful of the commitments of the region’s leadership.”

During the Annual Meeting, the board will receive program updates from the staff, conduct business on behalf of the FTDD Foundation, and elect a new slate of board officers for the coming year. The Annual Meeting also provides an opportunity to recognize individuals who have helped support or lead District efforts with the Susan F. Reid Valued Partner Award. Recognition of several honorees is on the agenda for September 29th.
