In mid-March, the First Tennessee Development District will launch a regional Wage & Benefit Survey, a first of its kind in Northeast Tennessee.
The survey is designed for the region's manufacturers and will collect vital information on the region's wages, benefits structure, and provide a snapshot of the true cost of doing business in the area. Working with partners across the eight counties served by the FTDD, including elected officials, chambers of commerce, and economic development professionals provides the best chance to collect the most information for this first-time effort. Without partnerships such as these, this project would not be possible. "Working with the experts in the economic development field from across the region has given us the opportunity to fine tune the survey with hopes of gathering the most data possible," said project lead, Mark Stevans, "we hope to give the region a new tool to recruit industry and provide industry with accurate data to address concerns like employment churn."
Once the survey launches, an email campaign will encourage participation and can be shared widely. Stay tuned for that exciting next step!
The FTDD has contracted with an Atlanta based firm, Sensible Surveys, to conduct the survey. Sensible Surveys has a long and successful track record conducting wage & benefit surveys across the United States and their reputation for professionalism, accuracy, and discretion is unsurpassed.
